My two cents of Eden Star :: Destroy - Build - Protect

Eden Star :: Destroy - Build - Protect, is an early access game I bought from Steam 20.2.2015. Minding my own business and using the queue system of Steam I stepped upon this exciting game and immeadiatly checked all the available media and a few Youtube videos covering the game to make a decision whether or not to buy it. I decided to give it a chance. And it was worth it.

Eden Star is sci-fi survival and fps game giving a nod to the successful elements of Minecraft sandbox survival game and Mass Effect sci-fi rpg. It is designed and produced by Flix Interactive, and it is improving and growing on day to day basis currently. In the game you are the Pioneer dropped from the orbit unto hostile and unknown world where your only goal - currently I might add - is surviving to see another day. Your objective is to find a good place to park your Eden Kit and start building your base and gather material for expanding it. During the day is safest to gather new materials for turrets and weapons and bullets but when in need you truly need to move during the Night Fall.

When I started the game I had the mindset I've got in Minecraft. Find shelter and stay in shelter. In Eden Star this is not the case which I found out through the hard way. You have to press forward to survive because the enemy Hives, organic and native beings of the planet Pharus 7.  Evolved Hives send minions against you during the night, and the more evolved they are, the more and further they send their minions. This is why you'll have to eliminate the Hives on regular basis and improve the defensive system of your shelter. Otherwise the Reaper will have another soul.  The building system is functional and you need to build realisticly a foundation for everything you want to stay up for longer periods of time. Not to mention this game really does justice for the UE4 game engine. I built a pyramid to protect my Eden Kit and it was beautiful to see the how rays of light shun off from the metallic surface of my creation.

One of the most pleasant things I found out is that the game was rather addicting. The beautiful graphics, basic functions your Pioneer has and the content itself were enough to pull back into the game even though I died quite many times. The environment is unforgiving against you. I felt excitment when I travled outside the bubble of my shelter and everytime I saw an enemy my pulse raised quite a bit. This is something I havent had in quite a long time in any game. I cant help it but say that this game does something right to be this great to play at only Early Access and Alpha State. I recommend it and if this catched your interest, check their Trello page. It gives the basic idea of what is going on in the development currently.
